Alumni Rising Together

Vista Forever

Dear Vista Camps Alumni & Vista Enthusiasts,

Vista Camps needs you. The recent flooding has left us with major challenges, and now is the moment for our alumni family to step up. A fundraising committee is forming, and this is your chance to be part of something that will shape Vista’s future for the next 100 years.

The Meyer family has stepped forward to lead this effort. John and Bobbi Meyer, campers and counselors here in the 90s and early 2000s, approached us about organizing a volunteer committee to support Vista Camps. We have approved this effort and are grateful for their leadership.

  • The committee’s focus will be on developing and implementing fundraising initiatives and campaigns. The funds raised will allow Vista to:
  • Repair the waterfronts, office, store, and gym.
  • Replace activity supplies that were lost in the flood.
  • Implement new safety protocols across camp.
  • Build three new cabins to replace those we can no longer use or provide temporary housing if needed.
  • Offset the loss of income from the canceled third term, which normally supports offseason operations such as paying staff, recruiting counselors, and marketing to enroll campers

A variety of skills are needed to help run the central operations of this fundraising committee as well as volunteers who can lead and participate in city-level efforts such as regional “city captain” teams and local events.

If you are interested in learning more, or if you would like to talk with John and Bobbi about joining this team, please reach out to them at vistaforeverfoundation@gmail.com.

Vista Camps has always been more than just a summer camp. It’s where lifelong friendships began, where confidence grew, and where generations of campers discovered what it means to truly belong. This is a pivotal moment for Vista. Your involvement now will help ensure camp remains strong and vibrant for generations to come.
