Growing up attending summer camp and working as a counselor, there were countless lessons learned and memories that I carry with me. The best thing that happened to me during my time at camp were the friendships made. My best friends are the friends I made at camp. We talk on a daily basis, celebrate big life events, catch up for lunch - they were even in my wedding!
What makes these relationships so different and so much sweeter? It’s simple. In the Vista bubble, you are able to be the full version of yourself and be fully present without the distractions of social media and pressure of the “real world.” At camp, time slows down and there is a chance for meaningful conversations. Aside from that, you spend days on end having an insane amount of fun with these people. Time at camp is special and the relationships you make are just as special. Take time today to reach out to your camp friends, help your camper connect with their cabinmates, or use this as an opportunity to invite a friend to camp!
